to balance the order of the Earths energy and growth.......

the control of every single life-form on the planet is kept by another lifeform, the foodchain does this..........if you count a virus and disease as part of it then we are not really top of the chain are we.
Evolution has it that we now have a brain capable of controlling the atmosphere around planet Earth, this is not a coincidence it is billions of years of gaining intelligance from natural selection and adaptaions.
Is the Earth alive? does it breath?( diffusion of radioactive gasses) does it get rid of toxic waste ? ( erm...volcanoes...) Does it move? ( of course it moves)
We have good bacteria living in our guts which we need to survive.
There is no point in trying to understand the bigger picture of why or where we are, that time will proberbly come in a million years, for now evolution has made us a brain that is more powerful than ever, and the earth will want us to counter the greenhouse effect.

Personally, no religion has ever given to me an answer to this question that makes sense. They basically rely on your Faith. You must believe what you are told.

Therefore, I am unable to give you an universally valid answer.

You (and anyone else) should try independently to find an answer to such question.

Should you find any satisfactory explanation, good for you !
Stick to it, ask no more, go on with your life and be happy !

This isn't an objective question so you will have many answers.

Faith based: Because God wants us here.

Science based: Because we evolved and to pass our genes along.
