100 is the median (by definition). Anything over 100 puts you in the top half. Each IQ test has its own standard deviation -- but they are usually between 15 and 20 points. If your exam has a standard deviation of 15 points, then that means that about 18% of the people in the world have a higher IQ. At a standard deviation of 20%, it probably means about 25% score higher.

In short -- 115 is a little above average -- but not near genius level.

Most IQ tests set their average at 100 with a standard deviation of 15. I'd have to know the name of the test to be sure, but If that's true in your case, then 115 puts you at about the 86th percentile. In other words, compared to others your age, about 86% of the population scores below you and about 14% of the population scores above you.

That's a decent score and in the ballpark for folks who can manage a bachelor's degree. Keep in mind that IQ test results aren't "carved in stone" and can easily vary 3-4 points from one testing to another. Afterall, we all have our good days and bad days.

I believe that 115 is considered average. But aren't we all?

Not great, but it is above average.
Average is 100.
160 or above is considered genius.
