All of the Abercrombie owned stores (Abercrombie and Fitch, Ruehl No 925 and Hollister Co.), except for Abercrombie Kids, has that "dark" kind of aura. It's supposed to give the customer a different type of shopping environment.

Maybe the CEOs are trying to save money on electricity so they can pocket more money from the overpriced clothes.

Maybe they want customers to get frustrated and buy whatever because it's Abercrombie and Hollister.

Personally, I avoid trendy stuff, I don't shop at mall stores and I would not shop in a store where I could not see the merchandise. Yet, I've never bought anything from either store and they seem to be doing fine.

Because the company decided to have that in their stores to create a vibe. Not an actual employee =[ (yet) but my friend works at HCO and that's what she told me.
