No battlefield commander would be stupid enough to send 300 against 140,000. Good thing you ain't in charge.

Edit: That's just one of the mistakes Rummy and Bush made when they planned this nightmare in the first place.

How about-AINT GONNA HAPPEN- they, the Turks, wouldn't need but a few hundred. As someone said, the Turk's ARE ferocious fighters. That's probably why they were "asked to go home now" from Korea and Viet Nam. 300 jarheads wouldn't last but only a few minutes.

Turkey has a large and fairly modern military, including many American systems. 300 marines couldn't stop them.

The real question is would the US even try to stop them ( outside diplomacy of course)?

I understand why Turkey is upset.. but they've got to think the longterm situation through a bit more.

Good question -- Since any incursion into Iraq would truly harm Turkey's hopes of further EU integration, Istanbul will be very cautious. I tend to think number 4.

Why would you think 300 US Marines would be used to repel an invading army?

Is that stupid American bravado? You people really need to get a hold of yourself. You look more foolish everday.

life is not hollywood! learn to identify the difference. it should help you. you've been watching too much fantasy not enough reality. 300 dead Marines we don't need, nor do we need a thousand fatherless Turkish children. Go dance arround in front of your mirror with your cape on and forget posting stupid ideas.

I thought the Turks were on our side?
But if they did invade, couldn't we bring our troops home and let them rebuild and police the area?
