I would check the phone line connections
Also verify with a phone you have a dial tone at
the wall plug
I would replace the cord if connections appeared good
I would double check the baud rate settings for modem
I would verify the phone number in dialer

If that all failed I would reinstall the modem drivers
then if that failed replace the modem

1)check the phone line that runs from the lil box to your computer. connect a phone to the end of it to make sure it works. If it does. then its not the connection line.
2) make sure the connection line fits snugly on the back of the computer.
3) make sure the number you are using to connect is still available. (One time I couldn't connect and after two days, found out the number i normally used wasn't available anymore. I wasn't even told about it..lol. That was interesting).
