To me he is very funny. He takes stupid little things and turns them funny. He is great.

I think he was brilliant in Black Adder, It has to be one of the best British sitcoms ever. I Think there were 4 or 5 seasons, each set in a different era in history. Didn't hurt that Hugh Laurie was in a few of the seasons, and he was extremely funny. It had a great cast and was very well written.
As for Mr. Bean, the first one I saw was on a Plane, and being the first one, I thought it hysterical. However, after they brought the series to the US, I found that after watching it for a few weeks the sight gags wore thin quite quickly. He is a good or great actor, but the material was not that good, so I don't know really how to judge. I can't say he was bad, just that the show was bad.
Johnny English was horrible, and he didn't act well in that. I think he is better in sitcoms.
Doesn't really answer the question, does it. I'd have to say on the whole he is a great funny actor, as long as he sticks to TV media.

Rowan Atkinson is the shiznit, son.
How can you not love Mr. Bean? And don't forget the Blackadder. British comedy at it's best. (I must agree with the guy a few answers above me who said, he is second only to John Cleese.)

I think he is one of the funniest men alive because everone can understand it. He dosn't act in those funny but sexual movies. An example of this kind o fmovie is Scary Movie 2. Also, he acted in Mr Bean Holiday(funny) and he acted in Mr Bean the movie. Mr. Bean the movie is the one where he came to America(funny as heck). Mr. Beans Holiday is the one where he goes to France( also funny).

"It is a race! Am I winning?"
"Yep! we are hauling a$$!"
LOL! Loved him in Rat Race. I haven't seen the other movies, but if they were anything like RR, then I'd say he's both a Brit and a funny actor. ; )

He's actually quite smart, he's an electrical engineer. He either went to Oxford or Cambridge. I loved Mr. Bean!

All of the above. If you like him watch him in the BBC series (plural) Blackadder. Especially Blackadder the third (set in the Elizabethan era) and the fourth (set in the trenches of the first world war) He is a very intellligent and well educated bloke.

John Cleese - "what have the Roman's ever accomplished for us" or "This Parrot is ineffective, it has ceased to stay" "Sybil" Rowan Atkinson is humorous adequate yet John Cleese keeps to make me snigger!
