WHY do some people get so bent out of shape when you start talking about GOD? OR you say you believe in GOD?

the word is NUT. anyone that cannot have a debate/discussion in a civilized manner isn't worth listening to. Some Atheists are just hell bent on ridiculing people who believe in God or have Him in their lives. I don't think that is very nice. i respect an atheist's belief and point of view. they have some very convincing arguments, but I choose to believe and have faith.

Because everyone doesn't believe in the same thing, and alot of people in the world don't like it when someone has a different opinion than they do about sensitive topics, such as religion. (Same with politics.) And talking about religion sometimes makes people think the asker is looking for a fight.
Not everyone is tolerant of other's beliefs. I personally am agnostic, but that doesn't make me a bad person. I can respect other people's faith and beliefs, but only if they can resist the urge to shove theirs down my throat.

Because it's a polarizing topic. The belief/disbelief of God is something that's personal, and when you're a non-believer surrounded by believers it can be really uncomfortable because you feel like the others think you are a heathen who's going to burn in hell if they can't convert you.

I have seen very good answers given to questions that have received a thumbs down for just saying the word "Bless" in the paragraph. It's amazing, and unfortunate.

WHY are you talking like THIS?
Because some people do not believe in God.
That doesn't make them bad.
Some people are trying to be 'politically correct'
I'm sure theres a bunch of reasons.

I don't know. I don't personally believe in god but that is my right just like it is your right to believe in god.
God is too big to fit into one religion. That's on my cousins bumper.
