How do you know if a ghost is near you?

well ive been a team leader of a paranormal inves. group for the past 5 years or so. so ive seen and experienced alot. so it kinda depends on the ghost yer dealing with. it can be a smell that shouldnt be there such as perfume or cigar smoke or as others have said that feeling of coldness called a cold spot which is made when a spirit tried to manifest. some ghost are very suptle about things and the things you notice may be very small and go unnoticed by alot of people. a good example is i was filming at a old theater and was in a room with all windows n doors closed but i didnt notice till i reviewed the tape that at one point you could see a curtain get pulled to the side not like a breeze but jerked as if someone gave it a yank. a good thing to do is try leaving a digital voice recorder on when the house is empty and see if anything comes up on it but before you leave tell it that it can speak into it. try the same with video. ive caught alot of crazy things like this. hope this helps

I have often felt, what I call a presence. I have noticed a smell which only lasts a few minutes like perfume or cigar/cigarette smoke.
Just over a year ago my cousin died. I didn't see very much of him over the years, but the last time I was in his company was at New year, in my mum's house. Just after I was told he had died I was sitting on my own, thinking about the last time I saw him as we were both singing together that night . There was no one in the house with me and there were no windows open, but the door in the lounge opened quite wide. I have a feeling he was paying me a visit.

It depends on how sensitive you are or how strong the ghost is. Usually you feel a drop in the temperture or you hair will stand up. Or you may hear whisperers. But what ever type of sign you recieve or sense depends on your sensitiveness or the ghost ablitities and/or energy levels.

The most obvious way is the coldness. It's an icy-coldness, like you're standing naked in the snow cold. Unmistakable. But do you get a sense that you're not alone? Do the hairs on the back of your neck stand on end? Think you see something out the corner of your eye, like someone watching you, but when you look noone's there?

an icy coldness, a feeling somebodys watching you but when you look nobodys there. sometimes some sprits will have a certain smell, like if your inside and all of a sudden smell a floral scent or something. if you own a pet such as a cat or dog they may act odd, because they can sense things we cannot. ive also heard that electrical abnormalities(spelling??) can happen, such as flickering lights.
