You cannot view a website by entering its URL into a web browser. However, you can connect to the website by manually entering its IP address. What is the problem?

Could be one or all of the following: 1) you haven't pointed the domain to your host's name servers, 2) the name servers aren't pointing to your web server, 3) your web server isn't configured to recognize the host header name.

DNS is used to get the IP address of a website.

If you cannot access a web site via its domain name, but can access it from its IP, then either:

a) your DNS server is down or DNS settings are incorrect
b) the domain isn't forwarding correctly, but the server it's pointing to is still up.
