Watching ITV News recently, the headline was that Kate Middleton had got back together with Prince William...However, it then told me about increased violence in a certain area of Iraq...Why is a bulls**t story abour royalty, who are obsolete, more important, in the news's eyes, than A WAR?! Im fed up with these celebrities, they make me sick. Please, someone explain WHY

Celeb news has an audience just like sports, politics, the war etc. It helps sell ads and commercials. It's good to have a mix of news for the general interests of the public.

First off, I had not heard of Kate Middleton and Prince William. If I had, it went over my head because that is not of any importance to me who he or anyone else dates. "Here today; gone tomorrow". I'm not so sure that "royalty" itself is obsolete because it is historically important to Great Britain in your example.

Many reasons include succession to the throne, the salaries they are paid, the role of the Monarch to open Parliament and the pageantry associated with Buckingham Palace (much like our White House). The Queen and the next King is important to many countries including Great Britain, the Bahamas, India, Australia, Northern Ireland, New Zealand and other Commonwealths of the Crown.

The war is paramount to me and what I pay most attention to. Actually, my problem is that we are not at war with Iraq, or any other country for that matter. Mr. Bush is at war; not the United States.

As far a celebrities in general (royalty or not), I really don't care about their affairs; I'm sure they don't care about mine. The two sons of Diana are important because of HER, more than just the royalty of Great Britain. Prince Charles is rarely talked about if you think about it. Most likely, the reason that perhaps celebrities are in the news is because this "war" has gone on so long people are sick (saddened really) of hearing about our fine soldiers being killed and it seems to be just an everyday thing now; which it should not be.

Once in a while, something comes up like a riff between Rosie O'Donnell and Donald Trump that makes news for a few days, but I'm sure our soldiers probably don't care about that and neither do I.

A fantastic question and I applaud you for asking it.

Because people are getting sick of hearing about the War on terror because its viewed as a large waste of money and a political adgenda of the President.

It doesn't--it all a part of the media distracting and confusing and world governments' wagging the dog.
