I'm a guy, and I keep seeing these TV commercials for cardboard tampons. What's the new advantage? I mean, isn't it already uncomfortable enough for women to have to put those things up inside themselves? And now they're making them out of CARDBOARD?!! Ladies, please explain.

The tampons aren't made of cardboard, just the applicator.
Personally, I HATE cardboard applicators, but some like them. I prefer plastc--it's smoother.

Haha ohhhh...... The actual Tampon is not cardboard! The applicator is made out of cardboard instead of plastic. The cardboard in not inserted in ANY WAY! It just holds the tampon in place so that you can insert the tampon. haha what a laugh

No they use to always be made out of cardboard. Then plastic came along and they were easier to insert. But plastic is not biodegradable so they are going GREEN and going back to cardboard which is biodegradeable. The cardboard is coated to make insertion easier. Don't worry,.

The applicator is cardboard instead of plastic. The tampon is still cotton. The applicator pulls out leaving the cotton intact. There should be some pictures somewhere on the net if you need one!

Tampons are comfortable when properly inserted. It is the applicator that is made of cardboard, but don't think corrugated cardboard.

If women don't mind, then you shouldn't have to worry your pretty little head about it. :~D

It really shouldn't concern you. No, it is not uncomfortable. And just the device you use to help insert it is made out of cardboard. Don't worry your little head over it.

its mostly not uncomfortable. but like when your putting them in on like the first day of your period its like kinda like um...not very lubricated and it hurts. a lot. but with the cardbord its a little bit more easy and cardbord also sucks up the blood a bit easier. and the tampon its self isn't made out of cardbord. the cardbord is jsut the aplicator. the tampon sits inside the aplicator and you insert the aplicator in your thing and push a part of the aplicator and the tampon slids in. but the tampon its self is made of a cottony like substense. as for pain it doesnt hurt at all.
