The fool is the fool and will stay a fool unless he ends up learning something. The person who follows him is a complete idiot because he doesn't have the excuse of being plain foolish; he himself is voluntarily putting himself below the fool.

Define fool. I think that if you define the fool as the one in the Beatles song, the answer is neither. If you are talking in "traditional" terms, the one who follows.
