Klingon you gave the best answer so far. I do believe that it's true. He is embarassed and doesn't think he can get work in the industry if he tells that he's black.

I have an article where he talks about his race. My question is why isn't it listed for instance on, Wikipedia? He doesn't even mention any of his family members. The page seems incomplete. Somebody please update it!

No, it's just that he believes that a person should not be known for his race or skin color and also that the fact that he's multiracial should not have him placed into a particular category. In other words, he's trying to position himself away from other artists/celebrities that pertain to a certain race in order to get the support of that particular race.

If you do enough research about Vin Diesel, you will discover many people say many things about him that are not true. Vin is half black (biological father) and half Italian (mother). If you do further research, you will also discover that Kwami, the rapper, or 'Boy Genius' as he is known, is his cousin. His step father, Irving Vincent, the person he calls 'dad', and who adopted him and his brother, is DR (from the Dominican Republic)
He refers as himself as multicultural : one - to give hope to other children who are also multicultural
two: because he didn't want to be type cast into a single kind of acting which would limit his opportunities.
If you read books about him
'XXXposed' by Michael Robin & Todd Rone Owens
....it will give some insight to the Vin Diesel his fans don't know.
His production company - OneRace Productions- also speaks to his strong beliefs in being multicultural.
But, he is not ashamed to be black, half or otherwise.
My advice is to do more research on Vin ... he's a beautiful person to get to know.

Isn't there an uncanny resemblance among Vin and Tony? (Vin is TK's favourite actor -- versus Ashley Judd being his favourite actress. He does not appear just like her, even though! LOL.)

Actually my future love slave has discussed his race. If you can find some old Letterman clips, you will see what I mean. What he wants is for people to focus on his talent not his ethnicity. He doesn't want to be typecast as a biracial actor. If he went on and on about his race, there would be a question asking "why does Vin Diesel always talk about his racial identity". We are never satisfied. Now if he starts denoucing either race, I would be more concerned.

Vin Diesel's a private person all around, because he feels it's not fair to subject his twin brother and his brother's children to the press. Even family members of celebs are harassed nowadays.
It's not as if he's ever denied that he's Black and Italian. And why should it be relevant?

How do you know he's HALF black or any at all? No one can ever guess my race (or mix) and I never tell them. Why not? Because it's stupidly unimportant. I love that I can't be defined as a race, and if people feel like they can't connect with me because I'm not one race or another, then they're a bit superficial and buying into the very racism to which they so loudly object.

ok when i found out that vin was half black & half italian i said ok that 's good and if he's bi or gay i'd still like him i have a big crush on him. the first time i saw the fast & furious he took my breath away so much that i stayed 2 see it again. the whole bi gay thing is over sorta it still shocks people a little bit. my favorite movies with him in them are-->fast & furious,man apart, & xxx

maybe like he is so mixed (like with more than 2 races) that he does not have a clue what race he is to begin with and therefor not being able to tell anyone what race he is...so its not his fault...its no ones fault............or he is really sensitive about it...
