The Katie Vick storyline was brought up during a feud between Kane and Triple H. Triple H "uncovered" evidence that Kane had a female friend who he was in love with as a young man. Unfortunatly, Kane and Katie were in a car crash, and Katie died. Triple H then stated that it appeared that Katie had sex with Kane right before her death, even though Katie was disgusted at the thought of anything sexual between Kane and her. Triple H then went on and accussed Kane of being a Necropheliac, raping the corpse of Katie Vick after she died in the car crash. This was one of the lows in the WWE, a terrible angle. "Katie Vick" is usually considered one of the worst storylines in all of wrestling history...

In professional wrestling, Katie Vick was a fictional character created by Brian Gewirtz, who served as the basis for a storyline in World Wrestling Entertainment in 2002. The storyline is cited by many fans as being one of the most tasteless in pro wrestling history.

The storyline was part of a feud between Kane, as a face, and Triple H, then a heel. The storyline began in Las Vegas, Nevada on October 7, 2002, after Kane had successfully defended the WWE Tag Team titles in a four-way TLC match over Christian & Chris Jericho, Jeff Hardy & Rob Van Dam and Bubba Ray and Spike Dudley. On that night, Triple H came onto the stage with then heel, Ric Flair after the TLC match to introduce the name Katie Vick to the Raw audience, then accuse Kane of murdering her ten years ago.

On October 14, 2002 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, Kane came to the ring to confess the truth about his relationship with Katie Vick. Kane claimed that Katie Vick was a friend of his ten years ago when he was just starting out as a wrestler and that her death was an accident, stemming from trying to drive her home in her car and being unfamiliar with the car's manual gearshift, leading to the accident. According to the storyline, Triple H came forward with information about an unrequited romantic interest Kane had with Katie Vick. Triple H claimed that Kane's semen was found in Katie Vick during her autopsy, but that Kane's romantic interest in Katie was not reciprocated. Triple H once again accused Kane of murdering Katie and posed another question... whether Kane forced Katie to have sex with him while she was still alive, or if he forced himself upon her corpse.

On October 21, 2002 in Nashville, Tennessee, the storyline continued with Triple H appearing in the ring with Ric Flair at the start of Raw, brandishing a videotape that he claimed was proof that Kane was a murderer and rapist. Later in the show, Triple H made good on threats to show the footage of Kane completing his "crimes." The video that aired depicted Triple H wearing Kane's mask and current t-shirt at Katie's funeral. After conversing with Katie (a mannequin dressed in a cheerleader costume), Triple H entered the casket and simulated necrophilia. The sounds of the act were heard, but cutaways of flowers and other spots in the funeral parlor were shown instead. After the cutaways and sounds of simulated intercourse, Triple H pulled spaghetti out of the top of her head and crudely referred to having "screwed her brains out." Kane's anger at Triple H manifested itself in that night's main event, a tag team match pitting Kane & Rob Van Dam against Triple H & Ric Flair. Van Dam pinned Flair to win the match while Kane and Triple H brawled backstage. Kane chokeslammed Triple H on a car that was prepared and positioned backstage minutes earlier by Kane's on-air friend and tag team partner The Hurricane. Triple H was locked in the trunk of the car and Kane declared that he was now going to screw him, questioning whether it would be if he was still alive or dead. Kane then drove off in the car to close the show; the trunk lid popped open as the car drove off.

On October 28, 2002 in Detroit, Michigan, Raw started with Triple H coming to the ring to cut a promo. At ringside, a casket had already been placed. Triple H bragged about escaping from the trunk last week and brought the Katie Vick mannequin out of the casket for an interview. The Hurricane appeared on the stage and pitched to a video depicting Triple H (in reality, The Hurricane was wearing a Triple H cardboard mask over his face) in an operating room having various objects pulled out of his anal cavity. Triple H responded to the video by beating Katie with a steel folding chair. Kane came out a few moments later to brawl with Triple H, and were booked by Raw general manager Eric Bischoff in a casket match after the brawl was broken up. Kane won the casket match with an assist from a returning Shawn Michaels, who popped out of the casket to attack Triple H. Triple H's World Heavyweight Championship was not on the line in the match. The feud ended as Triple H continued his feud with Michaels.

Numerous TV viewers, already disgusted with the storyline, were outraged at what they saw. It wasn't long before the WWE Creative Team was forced to end the story. Katie's last appearance was on the October 28, 2002 edition of Raw, though a roundabout reference to the storyline appeared the following week in a backstage conversation between Goldust and Booker T, with Goldust claiming to have tried necrophilia once before, when he was "young and stupid."

Another problem fans saw in the storyline was that they believe it retconned Kane's original backstory, as it was inconsistent with his original story that Kane was badly burned and was in hiding until 1997 when he surfaced to face off against his (storyline) brother The Undertaker.

She also played a large role in the novel Journey into Darkness, but the necrophilia part was not mentioned.

On the 2006 McMahon DVD, the angle was discussed with Triple H, The Rock, and Linda and Stephanie McMahon, all saying how horrible it was as a concept and a broadcast, while Vince McMahon still said he thought it was funny. Although she claims it was horrible, the gimmick was conceived and written mainly by Stephanie and her husband Triple H, became part of the gimmick to help promote Stephanie's work.
