Cooking is a skill that uses many different abilities. Your sense of smell, sense of color [good presentation of a meal], sense of taste, ability to stay focused on the project... all of these and more are abilities that can be at least in part attributed to genes. But the putting to use these abilities in the production of good meals? That's all you.

As far as I know, humans don't have much of a genetic memory. You probably got some traits that are conducive to cooking from your parents, but that's about it.

Is one of your parents good at cooking? And even if it's not genetic, just be happy with what you have and don't worry about where you got it.

Maybe, but I think if you tried you'd surprise yourself. Even I cook, so I feel like anybody can if I do. It just takes a lttle time and patience, but you can do it!

Well, my mom has a beautiful singing voice, and my father always knows what to say and can argue his way out of anything. I inherited those traits as well, so I'm sure if one of your parents are very skilled.... culinarily that is that it is genetically inherited... idk lol
