Going into Iraq was a BIG mistake, and pulling out now would be a HUGE one. If terrorists seize all the oil in that place, then they'd virtually have enough resorces to fund their jihad forever

I'm going to be the only person that supports it. What a surprise? This is gonna be a long answer, just bear with me. I'm from the U.S.
I have friends from the Middle East and there are attacks every day and the U.S. has lost less than 3,000 people total. We need to do what's best for other countries, not neccessarily our own. People in the Middle East live in fear and they are raised to believe people who aren't Muslim are going to Hell and need to be led to Allah or killed. Some of them don't. I'm not making a generalization. Everything I say is based off of statistics.
Secondly, if we were only in the Middle East for oil, why do gas prices constantly go up. Proportionatly, back in the 1950s and 60s, gas was more expensive than it is today by about 20 cents if you factor in inflation. And if we were there for oil, why do we keep on sacrificing people? We'd have been out by now.
Third, there have been numerous terrorist attacks in countries who are our allies, but not ours. Why? Our national security is invading privacy to some degree, but which would you rather be? Dead or Alive?
Fourth, liberals are trying to take our eyes off the war with global warming issues. When we were in the winter, Al Gore was talking about how the ice caps in Antartica are melting. That happens every year and it was the summer there then. Now, it's "climate change."
I believe it's neccessary to bring democracy to other countries, even if it's against their will, because as the leader of the world economically, we have an obligation to do what's best for other countries, though they might not want our help.
Why leave when we've made so much progress so far? The liberal media covers up our progress, etc. That'll be discarding all our troops' services.
We're still taking care of Japan after they went to war against us and no one's saying anything about that. We're their military and they don't pay for it. It's what we do.
What about the infinite amount of crimes committed in the U.S. that people hundreds of people die from every day? Those go on all the time and there is little effort to try and stop that. The way the world is set up, there's no way. Any way we go, we're leading ourselves to self-destruction.
E-mail me if you have any more questions.

Well I'm from the US and I'm also an Operation Iraqi Freedom Veteran. I think we should withdraw out troops from Iraq but we shouldn't do that before Iraq can take care of itself. They need to be able to function on their own as a country without help from other countries. They need to have a stable government and be able to take care of issues and problems themselves. If we pull out before that I fear and believe that things will only get worse than they are now and we'll have to back there for a third time. Pulling out before we do what is needed to be done won't solve much of anything.

A poorly conceived and managed war. Today I read that Iraq may now be facing potential threats from Turkey. It is amazingly discouraging and sad.

I'm from the US and I don't think most people really fully understand this war, I don't like it, my son is there right now but we (our forefathers) said we would help anyone that needed our help in gaining their freedom, they wanted to be free of the people that have been running their country so now we're helping them gain and keep it. And I don't think from what I hear being said on the army post that our GI's want to leave there until they have completed their mission.

U.S.A.. I think our next president will win partly due to his pledge to extricate the U.S. from the Iraq situation. I believe there needs to be a military presence there to deter other interested parties, and I think it should be the UN. I am very interested to see how the situation will evolve.

Its very unnecessary. Have you seen Fahrenheit 9/11? I just did last night. Everyone needs to see it. I don't agree with the war , nor do I agree with George Bush being elected TWICE. It needs to stop.
USA, unfortunately.

I'm from the USA and I don't feel we should have been there from the start .I now feel we will leave telling them to sort out their own violence and civil war , just as we did during our own civil war.

I wish it would stop. I mean more and more troops are getting sent over there and more will just keep getting killed. I mean here I live in Oregon and I am still mad just really mad. I would do anything for the war to stop.

Australia. The majority of us think US and everyone non Iraqi should get out. I'm neutral - arguing about it all day every day in 2004 when I was a left wing student has worn me down
