Because humans did not evolve form monkeys. The people who say that do not understand evolutionary theory. Humans and apes share a distant common ancestor. One did not evolve from the other.

You are obviously not very intelligent because you can't even write a proper sentence so I'm going to explain the error in your theory as simple as possible, every other species that your genus scientist say evolved do not have the originals still in existence. Therefore, why would there be any kinds of monkey's or ape's that did not evolve into a human type form? Please answer this when you have some type of knowledge, tho, if you evolve like some of you monkey relatives this will never happen.
PS
The other ape's should have also evolved because it would benefit them and it would be better fitted to adapt as the scientist say.

There is I think, a misconception contained in the question....
Humans did not evolve from monkeys.....they are close species, however we do not evolve from them.
The same can be said about zebras and horses, mammoths and elephants etc.
Monkeys are still around because they are related species, nor preceding ones...

Try this:
If Australians and Americans evolved from Europeans, why are there still Europeans?
And to those above who are saying we didn't evolve from monkeys... guess what? You are wrong. We did indeed evolve from monkeys. Our ancestor of 25 million years ago was a monkey. If I showed you one, you would point at it and say "That's an Old World monkey, previously undescribed species." We call the monkeys of 25 million years ago "monkeys."

Because it makes them feel better about their belief system. As Geolicious indicated, hominids evolved from a branch of primates, whilst modern apes were also in the works. Not like we evolved from chimps, who then just remained stagnant. Species are continuously in a fluid state of adaptation. On the big scale, primates evolved from smaller mammals, which came from reptiles, which came from fish, etc. Fortunately, we still have fish to pad the sushi plate.
I'm guessing a group hug is out of the question at this point.

There are many people who can't understand the theory of evolution or are not open-minded enough to try. Some people envisage a magical transformation like pokemon. People can't get their heads around the idea of having shared ancestors, and heck it's a big idea. You have to imagine things happening over thousands of years. I am amazed and disappointed by the answers given by William F and Nawatstrueluv. These are great examples of the wrong attitude. I don't think this is William F's subject area; how else could he be a top contributor. Newsflash will, cars aren't alive. Also your idea that mankind will make the next stage of evolution is distinctly unchristian; to suggest man can replicate God's achievements is dangerous enough but to further imply that we can improve on Creation?! I hope you aren't entirely serious! Can we cut the desperate rhetoric?
PS. I'm a Christian and a Botanist so I don't speak as a layman in either field.

Because they are not informed. Even those who do believe in evolution know that people did not evolve from monkeys, but instead from a common ancestor millions of years ago.

Creation
its similar to having a several automobiles
a 1925 model a 1950 model a 1975 model and a 2000 model
now if you knew nothing about the origin of these cars
you could surmise that that the 1950 car evolved from the 1925 and so on
people are similiar to primates because that combination
of DNA works for hands, walking etc
we are actually very similiar to pigs in many ways
and the reason pigs are used to teach human anatomy
by dissection
we are similiar to frogs if you examine only the hands
God made man to be able to solve the mysteries of LIFE
itself gave us diseases to prompt research and a well functioning brain to understand it
Man will make the next edition of MAN

Now my usual answer to this chestnut is that humans and modern apes have common ancestors. Most modern apes are larger and smarter than monkeys. On the other hand, creationists appear to be directly and recently descended from monkeys.
Now you know, monkey see, monkey do. And over and over and over.
