I think that if you have enough time you should go out to any computer shop and get a gel based cleaner or spray.

But honestly I have an lcd screen 2 and I find that if you use some of that sunglasses/cd cleaner stuff it works magic.

My brother told me his friends screen was really dirty so he used deodorant. I think the alcohol cleans the screen but then your comp will smell all the time LOL.

Oh and btw I also suggest that you turn off the LCD screen while cleaning so you dont scramble the pixels or something like that

Hope I helped!

I used to clean aircraft cockpits and some of the screens in the cockpits are just like a laptop screen. The only safe thing we used to use is diluted rubbing alcohol and water - 20% rubbing alcohol and 80% water in a spray bottle. I personally use it to clean my own laptop screen. We would take a soft cloth like a microfiber towel or a diaper and spray the corner of the folded towel and wipe them down and dry them quickly with the dry part of the towel. It worked better than just water at getting tough fingerprints off.

To clean your laptop screen, you should use 3M Notebook Screen Cleaning Wipes, which you can get from a store like Comp USA. I use those wipes, and it cleans my screen nicely. You shouldn't use anything else because nothing else does such a good job as these wipes do.

They make gel sprays if it's more than dust on your screen, if it's just dusty you can use a soft cloth or even a swifer pad will work great!
