I don't know if anyone has heard about it yet but the 60GB PS3 has dropped $100. I cant believe it. Sony didn't need to drop the price for at least another year or two. It doesn't really matter that much to me because I bought mine over 6 months ago.
Go to Gamestop.com and on the front page you will see that the price has dropped.

lol i'm pissed off, it only means i'm going to lose more money trying to sell this stupid thing now. But yes they had to drop the price because they are so far behind in market share it's not even funny. When Microsoft has sold 5.3 mil systems, Nintendo sells 2.8 mil systems and Sony has only sold 1.2 mil... yeah i think it might be time for a price drop or at least one GOOD (it doesn't even have to be great) exclusive game. The only port they have thats even better than the 360 is the Darkness... Sony really got over on fans this time.

its not precisely a cost drop. they at the instant are not dropping the fee of the present 80gb sort, yet are stickign a 80gb hdd interior the 40gb ( non ps2) sort and shop the fee an identical. so there will be the costly ps2 palying 80gb sort, n the £3 hundred/$4 hundred non-ps2 80gb sort. and to whover mentioend approximately sony dropping funds, its not stupid advertising and marketing to sell a console for below it expenditures to make, all consoles do this ( although by using somewhat much less margin than sony) then sell the video games for £30-£50/$60-$one hundred, while a dvd fee like 5p/10c. (n BD's for about £2/$4)

I don't see the point to your question if that was a question. It was made official yesterday after Circuit City ad showing it for 499. They really needed that price drop to beat nintendo and microsoft.
The 60 gb now costs 499 but they also will release on August a 80 gb for 599.

yep i just saved my self a 100 bucks. was going to buy it July 17th with NCAA Football 08 but now im defenintaly going to get it now. saw that it would last week.
