Yes it would increase your pc performance, but go for just 1GB of RAM and let me tell you why. If you have an old car and you buy a new carburator it would perform better but it still an old engine, so you go and change the engine and again performance will increase but you will need to change the aerodynamics of the car in order to increase perfomance. That's why if you add 2GB of RAM it will work as fast as the processor allow this new amount to work. Hope i have answered your question.

The problem may be that you are RAM limited; if so adding RAM will help. If the processor is undersized RAM adds are of little to no help.

Even the most powerful processor with huge amounts of RAM will bog down when overloaded. Worms and other viruses can bog down any machine. Before I went any farther, I would assure myself that I have no unneeded programs running in the background, needlessly consuming capacity. Then I would look at the type of processor and its capacity.

I suggest you provide more info like processor type, operating system, etc as well so a more meaningful response can be provided.

it is going to relies upon on what purposes you're working. including 2 GB extra RAM will make a important distinction with heavy purposes. you need to examine your motherboard specs, will it suppport 4 GB RAM? particularly of employing 4 GB(a million*4,a million GB) RAM, i think of you need to use unmarried 2GB DDR2 (667 MHz or greater) RAM.

Think night vs. day, apples vs. oranges and any other similarly trite analogy you can come up with. That's what it'll do.
