Thanks to all for your answers. I dont know how some of you misread the question. I wasn't asking whether I could still use it as a quarter, I wanted to know if it was worth anything as a collectable or something like that. But I got my answer, thanks to Taipping.

I keep forgetting I am a senior citizen and I kind of laughed at your question, I apologize. I forget there are a lot of young people out there. In the realm of coins, 1965 is like yesterday and not enough time has gone by to make them worth more than face value. It is actually not uncommon to find cents from the 1940's as well as 1938 nickels out there. All are common and maybe someday they will be worth something more than face value or a few cents.

In circulated conditions a 1965 clad quarter is worth its face, and carries premium only in uncirculated grades. In the numismatic world, like Taiping mentioned, 1965 is just like yesterday. The date is actually not an indicator of a coin's value, as there're many other factors to consider. Many circulated world coins, some as early as the 1900s can be bought for as little as 10 cents each from shops. Even some common ancient Roman or Chinese coins are just about a dollar each.

It might be valuable to someone who collects coins, but to the general public, it probably doesn't have any worth.

halves and dollars 1965-1969 are 40% silver and dimes, quarters, halves, and dollars that are 1964 and earlier are 90% silver.

Actually keep the european currency . It may be valuable in the future . Remember the the Euro has replaced the currency in Europe . As far as the american dollar and the five cents if they are mint condition keep them . They will gain value in the future or least keep sake
