I have done very little research but so far what I have found seems to be that the lack of people is limited to the USA.
I have only looked at New York and Los Angeles (Santa Monica beach) but then try going to Australia (Bondi beach e.g.) where you can see the colours of their swimming costumes or lack of them, or anywhere in Sydney (Opera House e.g.) you will see all the people.
Same goes for Paris, France.
So it seems that you people in the USA are being kept in the dark.

Actually GoogleEarth consists of many different kinds of images and this is why the quality varies from place to place. The high resolution images taken from modern satellites allow you to identify cars but it's very difficult to see people because they're not very big when you look directly down on them. Visit some shopping malls or city pavements, then look for shadows of people walking. They won't be much larger than a pixel or two.You may be surprised to find more people than you thought. Low resolution pictures that cover most of the earth have come from the old Landsat satellites and they are pretty useless. It's like looking out of a plane at 30,000 feet. The best images which are slowly finding their way on to small sections of GoogleEarth are aerial photos taken from around 5000 feet. The resolution of these photos are so good they allow you to identify almost everything. The GoogleEarth forums have some great places to visit. One posting was about a couple sun-baking in their swimming costumes on a rooftop in Holland. Have a look along beaches, because people sun-bake there and you will see them from a better angle. Hopefully the photos were taken in summer, or you may not see much at all. Remember that many of the photos are over three years old. You are not looking at the earth in real time.

Because,it's a satellite image of objects....if we had the power
to identify people on a satellite, we would use it to investgate things like see if people are doing a crime....and also don't you see that the cars don't move or anything doesn't move????

hope this helps
