Knight Rider. I recently was thinking about wanting to see a movie version set in the future. I would like it to have a set of different vehicles (helicopter, motorcycle, car, etc.) built like KITT with people using them to fight crime, or possibly aliens.

I'd say "The A-Team." It had the characters that most lend themselves to a fun movie.

The serial shows on your list wouldn't work as a feature film, unless it's a spoof. So 90210 and Cheers wouldn't work. Cheers wasn't strictly a serial, but it often was, in the sense that character development and relationships played out over whole seasons. This is especially true of the Sam and Diane seasons.

Three's Company was too simple in its story lines to make it to the big screen. It was always someone misinterpreting something. You can have a movie like that without it being a Three's Company movie. Plus, the idea of a man living with two girls is not exactly all that interesting anymore. I loved the show when I was a kid, but that's not to say it was a good show, in retrospect, and it doesn't mean that it would be able to make it to a feature film.

I mean even The Dukes of Hazzard had more character interaction and change of setting than did Three's Company.

Dark Angel wasn't all that good a show. There are a million shows and movies with a tough woman who was engineered or something like that.

Alice was already a movie, before it was a TV show.

Step by Step was not original enough to be a feature. That is, what was the difference between Step by Step and say, The Brady Bunch. It was just slightly different.

So, that leaves Knight Rider, which can be made into a feature, but that lacks the characters and the possible laughs of The A-Team.

It also leaves Magnum, P.I. but, I'm not sure I'd want that as a feature. It might work, but they'd have to get a very good script and an actor who is on par with Tom Selleck, as it relates to his characterization. I'm not sure who they would be able to get for that.

So, my money is on The A-Team. There could be laughs, as there really wasn't all that seriousness to the show and characters were meant to play off of one another. You get those scenes where they find some crowbars and they turn it into a dune buggy with machine guns. The team breaking Murdoch out of the hospital and so on.

I forgot about Mork & Mindy. It could be made into a feature, but I'm not sure how many people would go see it. Maybe it could be Jim Carrey's comeback or something.

1.Morky & Mindy
- Could be funny, but most likely be re-done terribly in
an modern day version, starring Jack Black or
someone like him (I like Jack Black but not in this role)
2.Three Company
- Could happen with a cast like Aston Kutcher or Freddie
Prinze Jr. as Jack, Jessica Simpson or Anna Farris as
Chrissy, Sarah Michelle Gellar as Janet, and
3.Dark Angel with the cast of the show
- Reasonable to happen, but I doubt James Cameron
James Cameron would find time to fit it into his busy
schedule.
4.Beverly Hills 90210
- Not for a long, long, long time will this be remade. Check
back in 2025.
5.Cheers
- Too iconic. Basically only one set.
6.Alice
- No.
7.The A-Team
- Already in development for 2008.
- I see this as a remake more along the lines of Ben Stiller/
Owen Wilson's "Starsky and Hutch."
8. Magum P.I.
- Already in development for 2009.
- I see this as a remake more along the lines of Michael
Mann's "Miami Vice" remake with Collin Farrell and
Jamie Foxx.
9.Knight Rider
- Already in development for 2008.
10.Step By Step
- This show has already been made into movies (not
literally, but almost) with Steve Martin's "Cheaper by the
Dozen" and the subsequent Dennis Quaid starrer "Yours,
Mine, Ours."
