I know a good deal about gaming but I don't know too much about the PS3 and its statistics. I really like role playing games and shooter games but I know that the PS3 doesn't really have anything that great right now in terms of games. So please help me out!

I have had my PS3 for over 6 months and I know that you need to get rid of that Xbox 360. Almost everybody has heard how the Xbox's have cost Microsoft billions because of the "ring of death".
I'm not a fan of role playing games but I know that Final Fantasy is the best role playing game series that Sony has.
I love shooting games and I know that Resistance Fall of Man is the best shooting game right now. I have the game and it is awesome. Also, Killzone 2 is supposed to comeout next year and will be a great shooter as well.
Just buy the 60GB PS3 and kiss Microsoft goodbye. Once you become part of the Sony family you will never go back to anything else.

I have all 3 systems, and if you have the 360 you are in the best spot all around. Unfortunately theres only two good games on the PS3 right now, and a bunch of below average ports. If you're a RPG fan Microsoft has a dedicated line of games comming out in the next couple of years. Eternal Sonata, D&D, Fable 2, Blue Dragon, Lost Oddesey, and Mass Effect (action RPG). As far as shooters go... Sony has... well theres resistance... which is as good as Perfect Dark or Quake. So yeah no real benifit there. But on the fighting side! The PS3s D-Pad pwns Microsofts crapy floating pad as far as precision goes. I refuse to play any fighting game on that system until they come out with a better control.
But in the end it all comes down to which control you want to play with (over sensitive 6-Axis vs White dirt magnet) and if you care about online play (Xbox Live or Lag fest). The choice is yours.
Oh and why not buy both?

If you like shooting games then I would stick with your Xbox360. The live system far exceeds that of PS3 and makes for a great deathmatch experience. Also some fantastic RPG titles are coming out on the 360 such as Fable2. Before any fan boys jump up and down and think im promoting the 360 over PS3 I own both. I always seem to be playing my 360 whilst the PS3 gathers dust. Gears of War and G.R.A.W 2 just don't get old. Also 2 more word for you....Halo 3.

Dont bother...becoz think about it, how much was the PS2 when it first came out and how much the Ps3 is......then look at the extra features on the PS3 compared to those on the PS2.......beleveive me u will accually rellise ur payin $200 extra for a few thing that doesent really make ur gaming any different

Role playing ? - WAIT FOR THE FINAL FANTASY ON THE ps3, IT'S GONNA BE AMAZING.
Shooting -? Resident evil 5, call of duty 4, reistance, all amazing shooting games.
my friend I'm getting a PS3 and I definitly reccomend you get one, opt for IT, TRUST ME ITS DEFINITLY WORTH IT.
