This Military Retiree PROUDLY Displays HER Country's Flag -- as a reminder of the HONORABLE Service that I did ... and that my Father (1st Generation American (WWII Paraplegic Veteran -- Deceased)), and my SIBLINGS did (who are STILL Serving!). We believe in our country and the Constitution of the United States.

If I could get my husband to put the flag holder back up, I'd fly mine every day again. Have a flag sticker on the front door and in my car window, and four little flags on sticks that I put in the front yard on national holidays. My dad's birthday is 4th of July, so we've always been patriotic; plus I have ancestors who have been in America since 1640, so I feel very American!

The other day when my husband and I were on a motorcycle ride, I counted 200 flags in less than two hours, and we were riding out in the country, where houses are not stacked on top of each other. A large number of the farms had permanent flag poles in the middle of the yard, and even quite a few houses inside city limits in our town do also.

In the US, many people fly Old Glory. Not as many as right after 9/11, but many. I liked it back then when people had flags on their cars and trucks, streaming from their car antennae, stuck on their windows. I enjoyed seeing the outward signs of patriotism. Now things are back pretty much as they were before 9/11, but I keep a flag in front of the house all the time. I love my flag and I love my country.

I fly the Flag on all National Holidays. When I was younger, I flew the Flag every day, and took it down at sunset.

People put of their flags for FIFA Cup here in Toronto. Within a 3km radius of where I live, on a regular basis, I can count the number of people with flags on one hand. (Not counting schools).

Every time I get a new place to live, the FIRST thing that goes up is my flag! I REFUSE to move in one piece of furniture, until the deed is done. And, yes, I DO dispose of them properly!
