Does Iran truly care for Lebanon, or is it using Lebanon as a proxy battle against Israel? Why is it concerned with Lebanon's internal politics?

Both, but mainly the proxy battle.

Iran (aka Persia) has been one of the dominant political players in the region for the last two or three thousand years. They care about anything that happens which affects the region.

Where in the world have you been for the last two years. Iran, is trying to look like there hands are clean of any wrong doing, so let some one else fight and we will set on the sidelines and furnish money. Bottom line is Iran, wants to destroy Israel, let some one else do it then they can walk in and take over. the same is going on in Iraq and that hole mideast. They furnish money, waiting for the right moment for them.

I don't know, but at the same time officials in Iran said America was waging a cultural war on Iran because of the movie 300. That's who we're dealing with.

They are doing everything they can to keep Lebanon from becoming the democracy it wants, and yes, if that happens, they won't have a strategic area to keep on attacking Israel.

Because with no outside interference Lebanon might go back to being a secular nation and not one run by radical Islam.
