i know a lot of ppl who dont even know where it is, and think its all farming land that we all say "OH, yah, yah, you betcha" and that its winter all year round.
ok, now i understand small misconseptions, thats ok, but i at least know where all the states are located, i know the climate of the areas too.

Ha...try living in the smallest state...Rhode Island. When Pluto was banished from being considered a planet, we actually had articles in newspapers saying that since we're so small we're next...we'll join MA or CT, ha.
A lot of people just are ignorant of the states of lesser publicity...since NY, CA and FL is on the news a lot. Also, a lot of kids today only care about where celebrities live...thats where the spotlight is.
I know a lot that MN has to offer...its where the biggest mall in America is located, where the Mississippi River starts, GO Vikings!!!:-) and much more...even that it can reach 100 degrees in the summer. Basically, everyone has their own views on every place...they either like it or hate it...From what I can see, MN is cool.
I actually know this because in school there was a program where we could choose a state to write to and act as pen-pals to residents there. I got up to 72 friends by the end of the program and still talk to some of them today (around the Danvers area).
They did talk a lot about shooting 4-point bucks etc. but also showed me there's more to the farmland...heck, I should visit some time:-).
And they have the coolest accents ever...Rhode Islanders cut off the "r" in everything (car) (park) ha.
Feel free to e-mail me if u have anymore concerns:-)...i'll get back to u.
Darn...u already added additional info...well...
I KNOW WHERE U ARE, where u live, where u sleep...
in MN of coarse!

I was in Minneapolis in February for moot court competition and the lady at the "All About Mn" store near the Metrodome talked like that. FYI - I bought stuff there and liked the accent. But overall I talked to other people from MN and they all didn't talk that way and they sure weren't the farming type. I'm sure you pretty cool but everyone has preceptions about other places too, not just MN. I once called to CA for my previous job and the lady on one the other end of the line said she loved my accent - FYI: I'm from New Mexico. So it happens everywhere. But I'm sure you are the farthest thing from the "Oh yah, yah, you betcha"
Take care and email me anytime dear!!!

I know a lot about Minnesota & I hate that stupid state. My husbands sister & mom lives there & in 2006 he left me & went there claiming he'd be back for us didn't come back for 11 months & then when my now 7 week old was 2 days old he left us & run back to Minnesota on May 14th 2007 & now claims he's never coming back... he always wants to run away to MN b/c he burns his bridges here with people so he keeps running there expecting everything to be wonderful! MN is no better than anywhere else!

Ummm, I just left Minnesota, the southern region of the state is almost all corn. Plenty of people talk that way, not very many minorities, and I recruited a girl to work there and she moved in June. She called me to tell me no matter how much it costs she was leaving even if that meant she couldn't keep her job. I asked why, she said she was freezing. IT WAS JUNE.
Last June I remember it was in the 40's.

No one really cares except for the few people who are directly affected by something having to do with the state of Minnesota.
But you're right, people should be able to find it on a map... at least American people.

well, I grew up in Chicago and went to school in Denver.
someone asked if I ever had a gun or was in a gang because I grew up in the city.
what do you expect? people have preconceived notions about everywhere...what's your idea about LA or Miami or New York City? I, for example, probably won't give anyone in LA a chance to be intelligent. And I wouldn't give most people in NYC the chance to be nice.
and, to be fair, Minnesota is known for being very, very cold...
