In first place, but 1 game under .500 since May 28th. Schilling on the DL until August. Manny and Papi not slugging. Youk and Lowell carrying the team's bats. JD Drew and Lugo abducted and replaced by zombies. Beckett and Dice K as good as anyone expected as starters. Okajima and Papelbon incredible at the end of the bullpen, but Piniero and Timlin are very disappointing. Is that the answer you were looking for? Oh yeah, the Red Sox are 1/2 game below where they were at the All Star game last year. Heaven help them if the Yankees are in striking distance when the teams meet in August and September. I can't stomach that kind of agita again this year. Last year was too horrible.

The Red Sox have the best record in all of MLB (53-34). They are currently in first place of the AL East. They have a winning percentage of 60.9. The Tigers (AL Central leaders) are second in the AL at 60.5% (52-34). The Angels (who lead the AL West) are third in the AL at 60.2% (53-35), the wild card would go to the Indians at 59.1% (52-36). The San Diego Padres have the best record in the NL at 48-38 a 56.3%, which makes them the sixth best team in all of MLB.
