Ive got a Trojan on my laptop and I've done a hell of a lot to try to get rid of it. Ive scanned it with my regular anti virus but can't get rid of it so I then tried AVG, also unsuccessful. As a last resort I ran Spybot Search & Destroy but still to no avail. Also can't delete it manually.
Any help would be reallllllly great
Please and thank you =]

It won't let me rename it. Went on AVG site and couldnt find the program for the specific trojan I've got. Think its a win32 but the only win32's I could find were worms

Start you computer in safe mode (F8 before windows starts) and run a full scan with your AVG program.
If that doesn't work go to the AVG website, there are lots of free specific trojan removal programs there.

Download the following which are Free.
1] www.superantispyware.com and download the Free version
2] In your search bar type in cwshredder and click onto the download link. This programme is designed to Remove the Cool Web Search group of Trojans
3] As you already have AVG Anti-virus if, the above do not work then reboot your computer and as it is rebooting Press F8 and this will lead you onto a black page. Scroll down to Safe Mode and then click onto AVG Anti-virus and run a scan. You do not, need to activate System Restore

STOP!!! DO NOT FORMAT ANYTHING!
Thats a last resort and we are NOT there yet!
First you have done the right thing! Run AVG and let it do it's thing! What you'll need to do is get the file name/location from the information that AVG gives you! When you find the file name and location, I know it won't let you deleat it! But here is what you do!

You get to the file, and right click on the file name and RENAME IT! call it what you want then once you have renamed it you will be able to deleat it!!!

Good Luck!

Download and run Windows Live OneCore Free Trial. It's free for 90 day's That should get things sorted out follow instructions you will have to uninstall any protection you have on your system it might do it for you with your permission just do as it dictates it's safe it's Microsoft. It will take about an hour or so to scan and fix things up. You will not loose any files or folders or settings.

PS It's the best advice I can give you so Good Luck.

Does AVG detect the virus a didn't delete it? also spybot? try to disable all the antivirus you had installed in your computer and then run avg again maybe the virus was in et one of the others programs vault and thats why can't be deleted.

I had a similar problem with one of my old computers and the only way i could do it was to totaly wipe the computer. but first back it up on a flash drive or external hard drive(be shure to un plug the drives just in case it erases them)

You may have to wipe the lot.Pointless using restore. It will still be there. If you can go to factory settings is best.I only know how
to do it on Acer.Press ALT+F10 on start up.Or else go onto BIOS.Good luck.
