They would need to be charged by Congress with Contempt (18 USC 402 and/or 18 USC 1001). If convicted, they would be sentenced to prison.
Two problems. First, it would generally need to be the Dept of Justice (DOJ) that brings the charges, and there is currently a huge conflict of interest in the DOJ. Second, Bush could pardon them, even without a trial.

I thought that the rumor about waiting until after the next election to press charges was fairly clever. No pardon possible from President Bush.
Funny that President Bush decided not to follow up on similar opportunities to charge President Clinton for contempt.

We have been determining to purchase a conflict which the two Republicans and Democrats voted for based on an identical info. Now you will say it became in accordance with lies yet you have not any info nor will all and sundry else have any info or produce any info. the only info we've is that Liberals lack dedication even while our pals all over the realm are looking on our dedication. We have been attempting save the economic device going which became already tailing downward popping out of the Clinton administration's final term. We have been attempting to stay away from the housing bubble created by making use of Liberals in the ninety's who theory we ought to continuously stress banks to make severe danger loans to those that probable does not have the skill to pay. while confronted with threats of regulation from Clinton, the banks caved and created the turning out to be housing bubble. i understand that Liberals are the only ones allowed to bypass back in the previous. yet that doesn't count selection in a liberals eyes. We tried to repair the Fannie and Freddie project in 2004 however the Democrats does not permit it bypass the the floor of the Senate for debate. i assume they did not % the Democrat representative who became relationship his pal who ran this methodology to interrupt up with him. only one greater factor. The 6 trillion in debt that has been extra through fact Pelosi / Reid have been given into place of work does not count selection in a Liberals eyes does it? the added 10 trillion in debt that Obama needs to function does not count selection in a liberals eyes. The debt we carried into Bush's presidency does not count selection in a Liberals eyes. the reality that The Democrats have doubled the national Debt through fact Bush is completely a minor difficulty is a Liberals eyes. I classify this as a non question. It will develop an argument out of a few thing that's minor in comparison on your events destruction to usa by making use of working the national Debt they're working up. on an identical time as we ought to be certain why Bush spent that ten funds, you ought to awaken.

sure. why not? they obviously have contempt for congress, common sense, and the american people. of course bush will pardon his buddies. he's been playing favorites since 2001. why stop now. but really, why even bother impeaching him. he already knows how unpopular he is and he will never step down anyway. he's got too much more damage to do before he gives up.

Yes they could go to jail.
And yes, Bush will probably do a Scooter Libby, and pardon them.
Libby hasn't been pardoned yet, but he will before G.W. leaves the Oval office.

What's this "contempt of Congress" garbage? Sure, we all know that Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Ted Kennedy, Carl Levin, Charles Schumer, et al, will do about anything to sling mud at the Republican party members, and as Speaker of the House, Pelosi can set up the agenda to do that. Largely for this reason, two important "checks and balances" are the Presidential veto and the Presidential pardon.
President Bush has used both powers very judiciously and sparingly thoughout his administration.

It's the President who will be found guilty of contempt of Congress....he will then be impeached. There is nothing he can do about it.
