cold and hard and petrified?

No it isn't.

Like Bouncybaby I too have had problems with mine, which scares me if I dwell on it, but I think life could be a lot worse.....couldn't it......yes?

I tend to look on the positive side and thank God for every wonderful second.

I hope you don't feel that your heart is any of the above. Bless you Kirsty, be happy.x

Wow. I really, really hope that you can get through this one, Sweetie.

As for the "dead inside"...you know, I really thought it was for a long time. Apparently it wasn't completely deceased, though it took a long time for me to believe it. And that's all that worked for me: Time. No sudden electric charge; no hokey-pokey kind of miracle...just a lot of pain that is STILL there, forever and always.

Guess we just must grow accustomed to that 'pain'; it becomes a permanent part of us, and we just have to figure out how to live with it.

Not living "UNDER it"---living "WITH it". Another big crap phase I had to actively haul myself out of was thinking of myself as a product of the former situation; please do NOT define your life by this time period you are in right now.

Don't know if this will help at all...I know you probably weren't looking for advice so much as camaraderie. And I don't know a single thing about you, except that you are probably in a considerable amount of pain...just wanted to let you know that chances are, you're probably much tougher than you think you are.

Best, warmest wishes for you and your life, Friend. --Ally.

No; but occasionally it feels that way. It feels dead though it still beats, cold though it still is filled with the heat of blood, and petrified though it is quite fresh.

Cheer up, Mopey-pants!

No,not mine. I'm fairly spiritual albeit in a non-deist sort of way. i love my children and my boyfriend and my mom and dad and my job. No complaints. I lead a good life. If you want to encounter true spiritual death try the Religion and Spirituality section. Talk about the legion of Dead Souls. It's nothing but athiest trolls bashing all relion or spirituality.

Dead? You mean broken heart? Sure, we've all had a broken heart on occasion. That's life. If my heart were dead, I wouldn't have ever experienced a broken heart, would I?

Nope, very happy thanks all the same.

Loving, beautiful, Japanese girlfriend who just agreed to be my wife (well last month she did), new flat, great job and loving family. Oh and a holiday to Japan in two days.

Only thing I'm missing in life is my McLaren F1 supercar, but that'll come in time.

No....absolutely not. And I hope that your heart does not feel that way. If it does....seek help....there must be someone who cares enough to hold out a hand in support. Take care and I wish you well.

Yes. And it doesn't pump blood; it's occasional weak and pitiful shudder only pushes more bitter, liquified regret through my weak, broken circulatory system.
