Is there a place where intellectual people can chat about topics without being bothered by idiots?

It seems like EVERY chat room that "calls" them self a current issues chat room is filled with people who are talking about something COMPLETELY DIFFERENT! In Yahoo! Chat, which used to be fun, all they have in there are idiots, who go into an Astronomy and say "any hot girl in here, type 233", soooooo off topic, and soooo annoying. I would love to talk intellectually with other intellectual people, with both different and similar opinions, but it seems like these chat rooms have no opinions at ALL. Is there a free, or non-free for that matter, live chat room where people who act stupid are kicked out? A place where people with thoughts can respectfully share them with others who have thoughts? I remember being in an Iraq war chat room, and like half of them were just people saying "death to all americans", and bull like that. There has to be a place like this. Do you guys know of such a place?

There has to be a place where people can talk about things like time travel, evolution, and the existence/non-existence of God; stuff like the string theory and the M-theory, big bang, big crunch, black holes, white holes, extraterrestrial life and its equivalent; common conspiracy theories concerning the Apollo moon landing, September 11 terrorist attacks, attacks on Pearl Harbor, and the area 51 alien incident at Roswell, New Mexico and whether or not it was the Project Mogul balloon; issues such as the morality and/or immorality of abortion and capitol punishment. Stuff like that. I cannot find even one, that is a general intellectual chat and not a specific one. I would love to talk about these things, but no one has an interested ear it seems. Yeah, I wish there was such a place, but all the idiots have to come and mess things up. I would love such a place, too, but unfortunatly there are too many idiots in this world lol.

I have been reported for asking for prayer for other people and even reported after I got best answer. I reported 2 people men because they were very verbally abusive with my question and sexually perverted. I am a married woman and would havenone of that. I also took the liberty of blocking these people as well. I have learned choose only the battles to fight that you are wiling to lose. Pick and choose your battles carefully. No when to stand up for yourself and when to back off. Also I do give thumbs down to mean or sacrastic answers, but the report button I only use when the person is blanatnly abusive and I have wrote my reasons why. This is a relgion and spirituality forum where people come to learn and grow and ask questions that they may not be able to ask or feel comfortable asking anyone else. There is enough hurt, meanness and negativity in the world without adding to this to the R7S forum. Yes I am a christian. But that does not mean I have the right to be superior or act like I am better than anyone else. We are all called to love and encourage oneanother and I remind that to my nephew and nieces when they fight as well. People are reporting people yes but that is only a temeporary fix revenge is sweet but frogivness is even sweeter we need to pray for those on line who are hostile and reporting others simply because they did not like what they wrote. I say it is a temprary fix because it gives a sense of satifcation that the person got back at the person who worte the question but does not fix the heart condition. Well, its not a chat room but rather a Google group that i ended up subscribed to called "AskPhilosophers". Some of the language is difficult to understand (read: some of the participants' grasp of the English language is a little questionable).

Hi there

There are plenty of chat rooms on the net like that, you would be better off trying some of hte smaller rooms, as most of hte idiots tend to go into the bigger chat rooms with more people in.

~ You will find a variety of acceptable places on the internet that will provide that type of range of topics; one place I enjoy is located below.
Although it's a forum, and not a chat room there is still a decent exchange of ideas.
