The Edgar Allen Poe Society's article on Church Hospital (Washington College Hospital when Poe died) says in the second paragraph that "his last words may have been "Lord, help my poor soul."" The Poe Museum, in it's Death Theories article, also claims this to be Poe's last words.

His last words were "Lord help my poor soul"...I remember because Poe was one of the last writers I studied last year..and For some reason I thought it was interesting that those were his last words...
