Was it ever?

Seems like they haven't taken responsibility for anything.

If they ever were, they wouldn't have nominated George W. Bush in the first place. You'll notice that when the Democrats nominated Bill Clinton, they didn't claim to be the party of marital fidelity. They did claim to be the party that places real, practical value on families -- and Chelsea Clinton turned out OK, especially compared (thus far) with Jenna and Barbara Bush, not to mention Jeb Jr. and his sister Noelle. "I will restore honor and integrity to the White House" -- Far from it, Bush couldn't even restore honor and integrity to his own house.

Yes, they want you to take responsibility for their phuck ups such as Iraq war and their tax give aways and subsidies to the rich and hugely profitable corporations. We'll be paying for those personal responsibilities and phuck ups of Bush and Cheney's for decades to come. In the meanwhile, they are profiting hugely for this Iraq war. It's very easy to take the money of the U.S treasury and have it funneled into your personal bank account via Halliburton, Exxon Mobile, Kellog Brown and Root, Carlyle Group, Bechtel, GE and the Saudi Royale family. The American people are getting a first hand education on how easy it is to do that if you have the power. The question is, will they actually learn from that education and do something about it?

There doesn't seem to be much of a difference between GOP and Dems anymore. Libertarian is the party that has that value, but they'll never get anywhere because it's so locked down as a stupid two-party system.... when really, there's only one.

Never was.
Here is a list of Republicans who never took responsibility for their actions: Republicans who committed adultery, but continued to preach a doctrine of morality in government, Rep. Henry Hyde (R-Ill.), and former Rep. Bob Barr (R-Ga.), who were leaders of the impeachment proceedings against President Bill Clinton; former presidential candidate and Viagra commercial celebrity Sen. Bob Dole (R-Kansas); former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.); former Rep. Bob Livingston (R-La.), whom the Republicans planned to vote into office in 1999 as Gingrich's successor, but whose career came unraveled by his admission of "marital infidelities"; Rep. Don Sherwood (R-Pa.), who had a five-year extramarital affair with a woman 35 years his junior and who later accused him of repeated assaults; and former Rep. Helen Chenoweth (R-Idaho), who told the Spokane Spokesman-Review that God pardoned her sins.
Mark Foley: who molested under aged pages and was protected by Repubs. such as Dennis Hastert and Bush.
Randall Tobias: Bush’s top “abstinence only” advocate who resigned after admitting to using prostitutes.
Scooter Libby who got away with outing a CIA agent,,committing treason.
And there's George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, Condoleezza Rice, and John Ashcroft, Gonzales, whose six year reign is pepper-shot with lies and violations of even the most basic codes of ethics. They are the cabal that had nodded off prior to the al-Qaeda attack upon the United States, and then lied to the people prior to launching an invasion of Iraq, which had no ties to the 9/11 plot, no ties to al-Qaeda or other terrorist groups. Still refuse to admit they made a huge mistake. Personal responsibility? Lol! Repubs. don’t even know what that means.

Yep.

But what have the Democrats taken responsibility for? Nothing. At least they had the brains to not promise anything in 2006, even though their voters seem be thinking they did.

I think you answered your own question...personal responsibility...yep that is still us...let history judge us (re:Iraq...I assume that is what you are talking about) in 10 years...just imagine what'd happen in the NY times ran forieign policy (talk with iran and syria about heping in iraq?) that's like talking to the fox about gaurding the chicken coop...other than that the economy is humming along and things are going well from where I stand.
