I am constantly amazed at the average person's inability to grasp such basic concepts as basic math and problem solving. But I think a lot of that has to do with our primary and secondary education system. I think people are trained to think in a specific way and that tends to work against their ability to think for themselves or solve problems that don't conform to a specific pattern.
I also think many people fail to stop and just think for a moment before asking questions. I manage a movie theatre and I see this all the time. Someone will be looking at the movie times and they feel the need to ask someone at the theatre if those are the correct times. They will see a movie listed with show times and ask if the movie is playing today.

Well since they are stupid i would think that they are stupid. But, unless you think that they are smart and being called stupid and they are not stupid then they are probably not stupid. Unless they are stupid and you think they are smart then they may be stupid but not smart.
