first of all you know that 2013 is divisible by 3 because when u add the digits in 2013 you get 6 which a multiple of 3, so you get 671 x 3 after playing with numbers 4 a while u will see that 631 branches into 61 x 11 so you get 3 x 11 x 61

First try to determine if you can factor 2013. Generally speaking, you try to write it out as products of prime numbers,

given a, expand as

a = b^n*c^m*...*z^q, etc

where n,m...q are whole numbers, and
b,c...z are prime numbers (remember, 1 is not prime)

so 2013 can be divided by 3 ( you can tell because the sum of each digit is divisible by 3 ... 2 + 0 + 1 + 3 = 6 which is divisible by 3)

2013 = 3*671

671 is not divisible by 3 since its sum is now 14. It is not divisible by 2 because it is odd. it is not divisible by 5 because it does not end in 5 or 0. it won't be divisible by 7, now try 11. 671/11 = 61

2013 = 3*11*61

61 is also prime (you can check if you want)

so this is the lowest form of 2013

2013 = 3*11*61

Do you mean express it as a product of prime numbers or prime factors?

If so, then 2013=(3)(11)(61)
