I buy a new computer every three years and spend about $4,000 each time. I just bought a Dell XPS 720 and I don't know what to do with my old computer. It runs a Pentium 4 3.4GHz and has 2.00 GB of RAM. Runs Windows XP Professional and everything works great on it. Is there anything I can use this for still? Or should I just toss it? Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Wipe any personal info and sell it if you have no use for it.
I have a computer that is P4 2.4 GHz, 768MB of RAM, and I am pefectly happy with it, so I'm sure many people would pay for a computer like that.
If you want, you can use the old computer for backup, but it's really up to you.

The couple of details you gave about your "old" computer show that's still a pretty powerful one. Why would you want to stop using it?

well you have lots of options... you could try to sell in on ebay or give it to a thrift store and write it off on taxes.

Give it to charity. They might want it. Or give it to a friend.
