How old are you, or the person you're talking about?
I'm 13, 5'5" and I weigh somewhere from 105-110.
I think 99 pounds might be a little less than you, or the person you are talking about should weigh. A little extra pounds won't hurt at all. Maybe trying to get to 103? But 99 pounds doesn't sound dangerously underweight.

If you're 5'3" and 99 pounds, your BMI (Body Mass Index) is 17.5, which is considered underweight (but not by much). A healthy weight for your height is between 107 and 141 pounds.

However, these numbers are for adults. If you're in your early teens, you will probably fill out naturally and perhaps gain more height.

You obviously want to be too skinny, because 99 pounds is like the weight of a 6th grade girl or younger, I'd say you should be at least 110 lbs. depending on your age, if your a teen 99 lbs isnt good

ok ill check it for u:

17.5 is your answer.

Underweight = <18.5
Normal weight = 18.5-24.9
Overweight = 25-29.9
Obesity = BMI of 30 or greater

says your underweight.

i tried 105lbs and that puts u right at 18.6 and just over not being underweight.

try it for yourself!

umm, well just as long as your not super skinny - thats kinda low. eat some chocolate bars though and you'll be ok! lol. if u want to make sure u are healthy and fit don't stop eating or anything just exercise a little more and eat some healthier foods. make sure your weight doesn't get any lower. otherwise you could get sick

of course. i weigh that much and I am 5'5". but 2 inches doesn't matter. That's completely fine.

u don't think you're overweight do you? cause you're far from it if what you said up there's true.

to becky:
they say it's fine if you're underweight as long as you're not constantly getting sick. How would 5 pounds change anything?

If ur a teenager then 115 I think is suppose to be ur ideal weight It may be a lil more but I think its around that much.

If you have low body fat that is very good. My ex wife was very fit and healthy. She was 5'5", 100.
