I'm fourteen and just found out I'm pregnant. How are you supposed to sleep? On your back, side, whatever? Oh, and I'm not that pregnant. I'm not even showing yet.

My parents don't know yet. My mom probably willl make me get an abortion when she finds out, even though I don't think I want to. Do I still have a choice even when I'm still kinda young?

Try as much as you can to sleep on your side (they say the left side is best, but either way is okay). It gets hard to sleep on your belly as it grows and it's not best to sleep on your back. But honestly, sleep any way you feel comfortable...I would fall asleep on my side but always be on my back in the middle of the night. It's fine. Talk to your doctor about it too.

As you get further along, you'll find that it gets hard to sleep through the night...but you'll find ways to make yourself more comfortable (like putting a pillow between your knees helps to take some of the pressure off).

Good luck with your pregnancy and ignore anyone criticizing you on here, okay?

If you just found out you are pregnant, then you can't be but a couple of weeks. But on the other hand you maybe 3 months. I'm not sure and I think that you need to go to the doctor, and confirm your pregnancy. If you aren't "that" pregnant, then I wouldn't worry about it too much. When you get as big as I am ( 9 months) you should sleep on your left side. But if you wake up in the middle of the night on your back, don't freak out. Just roll back onto your side.

Oh dear..... well honey sleep in whatever way is comfortable for now. I think there are far more concerining issues here than how you sleep. Especially since a few minutes ago you posted a question asking what to do and saying you would probably have an abortion. Why don't you get off the computer and go talk to your parents.

Fourteen and pregnant, how disappointing. You haven't began to live your life and now you're going to be a mother. How do you sleep? Right now, anyway you want but when you get bigger, you can't sleep comfortable. As a matter of fact you won't sleep comfortable again, now the baby is coming you won't sleep either. Good Luck 14 yr old mom you're going to need all the help you can get. When you see your friends going to the mall, movies, prom, college. Wish that it could have been you. You could have been having fun too, but no you wanted to have SEX. I don't know you, but like other girls who are in the same situation as you, I feel saddness. Good Luck with the baby, and be a good mother.

You can sleep however you want I would suggest until you get to your 2nd trimester then you're suppose to sleep on your left side. I use one pillow between my knees/legs, one in font of me to hold on to an curl up with, on under my head, and one behind me just tucked a little under my back for some support. Sleep is so hard, especially because of side and back pains and of course heart burn and acid reflux. Enjoy the sleep while you can.

try different positions and use pillows to adjust your back and your stomach asit starts to expand. Every woman sleeps differently so nothing is right or wrong use what works to help you get the sleep you so badly need. Hope your having someone to help you out to considering your age you will need some extra suppot and attention. Congratulations but Best Luck to. Going to be a long hard road for you.

I'm also pregnant and I find that I am most comfortable sleeping on my left side. I've also read that sleeping on the left side is best for circluation of blood. Good luck and God bless!

First couple of weeks I slept on my back than my left and right side. Around 20 weeks pregnant I been only sleeping on my left side. But when I'm awake I sleep on my back and sometimes on my right side. My baby hates it when I sleep on my right side.

whichever way is most comfortable. you're body will let you know when you cannot lie on your back any longer. it won't be until you get big though. most things saying you shouldn't sleep this way or that are old wives' tales. the only concern is putting pressure on your main vein/artery that goes behind the uterus, which can happen only when you're rather large & lie on your back (and they say you KNOW when it happens!). i sleep on my tummy all the time, more so now that i'm prego because it helps settle my upest tummy.

if your not showing yet, then you shouldn't have a problem with comfort quite yet. (just dont sleep on your stomach) But as you get in ur later months, and ur stomach gets much bigger ur gonna have a real problem sleeping comfortably. Especially with the baby kicking and everything, alot of moms-to-be have trouble sleeping the last couple of months.
