Since I'm more successful than I ever expected to be, I'm still trying to figure out how to answer your question.
I don't believe in luck, good or bad. Only choices and consequences. I believe my parents did the best they could with what they had to work with, so I can't blame them.
I suppose the only answer is: when one blames, he gives his power away. I've stopped blaming anybody and anything long ago and that's worked well for me.
Thanks for asking!

Blaming something or somebody is a sign of immaturity. Once you actually grow up you take control and responsibility for your own actions and life. If you come to a point where you see something doesnt work for you, you change course and take different actions. Your failures will become learning experiences and your successes will show you what you do right.

Mostly you should blame yourself and then partly your parents for not giving the better things in life, i guess. But ones you no longer live under their roof you should make things happen for you, take control of your life and work towards success or whatever it is that you want

Myself! I am responsible to my actions. My parents gave me the opportunities to put myself into a position to succeed. Luck? No such thing. Sometimes things fall your way and sometimes not, but that's the way it is and luck has nothing to do with it. I did notice a lack of possible religious influences, and I would be remiss if I didn't think that God puts you in a position to succeed, but it is still up to us.

You can only blame your parents for so long. At some point in your life you have to take charge of your own destiny. To do otherwise is self-defeating.

bad luck, laziness, too much beer, hurrying too much with school, also people being mean telling lies about me, also going crazy held me back, and the stigma of being labeled Bipolar still does, perhaps the label holds me back more than the illness at this point

The blame is on your shoulders, as it is with me. There are outside things but for the most part is you or me. I wish it was different.
