Chad Johnson is a respectable pic.
But the best is Torry Holt -
8 years in the league
712 receptions 89 per year
10675 yds 1334 yds per yr
84.7 yds per game
15.0 yds average reception
85 yds longest play
491 1st downs
64 touchdowns 8 touchdowns per year
Chad Johnson -
6 years
466 receptions 78 per year
6925 total receiving yards. 1154 yds per year
75.3 yards per game
14.9 yards per reception
82 yrds, longest play
349 first downs
41 touchdowns 6.8 per year
Marvin Harrison - It never hurts to have Peyton throwing to you, but not saying Marvin would not be great without him.
11 yrs
93 receptions per season (impressive)
1245 yds per season.
80 yds a game
11 touchdowns a year. (impressive)
I personally do not like Marvin Harrison, hell yeah, he is great, but I would rather have Torry Holt, or Chad Johnson. Everytime I see Marvin catch a ball and step out of bounds because a defender has broken his 10 yard safe zone, it just makes me sick. Of course, I have seen him make some of the best catches out there also, but I want someone who will not give up on a play just because he might catch a lick or two..

The best wide reciever in the NFL is still Marvin Harrison. This guy is the ultimate football player, very much like Jerry Rice. He puts up ridiculous numbers even when he is double and triple covered. He's also not afraid to go across the middle to make catches. Many recievers won't put that effort and take those hits. You never hear him trash talking. He doesn't do the celebrations. He just gets the job done. He's the player every coach wants to have. The classiest guy in the NFL.

I'm gonna have to say that Terrell Owens is the best receiver in the NFL right now. You have to think about it this way, talent is what makes a receiver great, but lack of talent AROUND a receiver is what makes them the best. All of the receivers that have been named so far (Harrison, Ward, Johnson, Smith, and Holt) are all on good teams, and have been. Its easy to be a great receiver when you have a great quarterback throwing you the ball, and you're surrounded by other good receivers that the defense has to worry about just as much as you.
Terrell Owens hasn't had a great team around him all through out his career, I'd say the only time that he did was his 1 1/2 seasons in Philadelphia and he absolutely EXPLODED there because finally he had help around him. But in his years in San Francisco and Dallas he has still put up excellent numbers even though he is/was really the only standout receiver on the roster and catching passes thrown to him by mediocre quarterbacks. That in my opinion is what makes a receiver the best in the NFL, thus the reason I say Terrell Owens.

Steve Smith, of the Carolina Panthers. He never gets the credit he deserves for what he can do. Hes a bit short, but he can outjump, outjuke, and outplay anybody on the field. Every time he touches the ball, he is a threat to score.
Remember when he got 218 yards against the friggin BEARS Defense in that playoff game? Everyone in the stadium knew the ball was goin to him, and he still made 12 catches, for 2 TDs.
Keep in mind that he has Jake Delhomme, an NFL Europe QB, throwing him the ball. Chad has Palmer, Harrison has Manning, even Torry Holt has Marc Bulger. Steve Smith has to make every play by himself.

Steve Smith, Tory Holt, and Marvin Harrison are all good choices. Harrison is starting to show some signs of aging though. Chad Johnson is an overrated big mouth!

the best reciever in the NFL hasn't even scored one touchdown, caught a pass, or even played a game. That wide reciever is Calvin Johnson.

Johnson's only crime against society is his TD dances and his big mouth. Otherwise, he's an awesome receiver, and he's nicely complemented with T.J. Houshmandzadeh.
However, I'm a Rams fan and have to place my vote for Torry Holt. He's been getting it done for the Blue and Gold since he came into the league in 1999. Like Johnson, Big Game has a perfect complement in Isaac Bruce. He's Canton-bound.

Torry Holt of the St. Louis Rams in my opinion. He's one of the best route-runners in the league today and has great hands when it comes to making spectacular catches. His size is good for blocking and for making end zone catches. Holt is experienced and actually has a Super Bowl ring. Marvin Harrison is a close second with Steve Smith third.
