It is called McDonalds because the very first one was opened by the McDonald brothers. Then Ray Croc came around to sell them a milkshake machine and bought McDonalds. He was the one who grew the company into an international phenomenon.

The company was started by a gut that used to sell product to the McDonalds brothers hamburger shop in So Cal. He then started what we know is McDonalds today he liked the brothers and they had a good thing going, but have no relationship to the McDonalds you know

If I can remember accurately, some 20 years ago I read that it was founded by and originally called McDonald Brothers. Later it was shortened to McDonald's.

Well you have to slow down and think about it. The person who started the whole thing was Mc Donald, or maybe it was Ronald Mc Donald and his hair was red..lol No im serious maybe that is where the name came from.
