I was thinking of getting the Geforce 7300GT or something around that price.
But i was wondering wat the ATI equivalnt is and who is cheaper Nvidia or ATI or are they simular.

Please dont tell me that i should get a much better one as i dont play that many games, but i just want a card that can play games say a few times a week if i wanna play any.

Don't go MUCH better, just go a *little* better with a 7600GT. For a price difference of maybe $20 you get a nice boost. Of course if you can get a 7300GT really cheap like under $50, then grab it...

The ATI side is a little more expensive, I think the X1600 Pro is the rough equivalent in performance.

Checking on Newegg, the 7300GT is $62- down to $52 after rebate..

Looks like the 7600GT is $79 after rebate

X1600 Pro is $79 as well

The 7300GT ddr3 is great and can overclock some more. The ATI equivalent would be the X1600 pro but it consumes more electricity (41 watts vs 25 watts for 7300GT). Here are some benchmarks (but it is for the 7300GT ddr2).

The ddr3 variant of 7300GT can easily top those benchmarks, GUARANTEED.
