Range rovers were never very reliable or as good as a proper land rover, not a freelander etc, if you want a decent off road vehicle buy a 60's land rover, the small versions are excellent my mate who lived on a farm had one for over 20 years. Range rovers are known to eat spark plugs, diesel and wear suspension parts as well as rotting quick, do have a tendency to be sluggish because of their weight. If you don't live on a farm you don't need such a vehicle, get a normal car, cheap to run, can be fairly quick from starting and easier in traffic.

Hi
You don't say the year or fuel type, it all makes a difference to the possibilities.
I will assume for now until you divulge the above info that it is a petrol injection and I will guess at the coolant sensor on the premise that once the engine warms up the O2 sensor compensates for the lack of fuel being commanded by the coolant sensor and the performance is restored to a fashion.
Best regards
Geordie

You don't say what engine you're running. If it's carbs, it may be that the fuelling is dodgy when on the choke. If you're Efi, perhaps the air flow meter is playing up. Just an idea.
I'm ok at fixing things if I know what's up with them, just not so good at diagnosis.
BTW Just ignore the Wierdy Beardy, Bobble Hat Brigade, Tree huggers above. They can't think for themselves, only regurgitate anti 4x4 drivel they've been force fed by the media.

You need a tune up, if you haven't had one.
-change spark plugs
-change distributor cap and rotor if equipped
-change your fuel filter
-change you air filter
....this should make a dramatic improvement to your vehicle's running performance. When's the last time you did these things? If it was more than 60,000 mile ago......its' time!

purchase a advantageous Jeep Grand Cherokee with the 4.0 and 4x4. they are in basic terms approximately bulletproof, extremely decrease priced to repair while they do wreck, and have self belief me all automobiles are made to interrupt. they are somewhat greater constructive on gasoline, have great off street features, they at the instant are not common, look advantageous, and in basic terms all around great automobiles. they are going to pass 3 hundred+ thousand miles in case you shop up with them properly.

Try getting a tune-up. Most importantly, change the spark plugs. That might be the problem.

A few possibilities:
1. May need a tune up
2. Battery might be getting weak.
3. Might need a new starter.
Get it looked at before you spend any money on something it may not need.
