now to tear your arguement apart bit by bit:
The best International team of all time is Brazil 1970 - we faced them there not the French, they had to be good to beat us..... With Junior and Socrates the 1982 team we vanquished was actually considered better
The best International team of all time in Europe is Hungary 1953 - ur nuts
The most WCs has Brazil - they won their 4th cuz Baggio nailed a lousy shoot out kick - otherwise we would have 5 stars
The most Euro cups has Germany (France in secnd) - World Cup is much more important with Brazil and Argentina in it

Winning the World Cup four times might have something to do with it. This is twice as many times as say Argentina. Incidentally, Italy did not beat the U.S. in the last world cup, it was a draw.

I agree that Italy has gotten boring, last year most of their matches including the final were virtually unwatchable because they were so boring. But I think Italy is still a great team, marred only by a few cheating players that should be off the squad, coughgrossocoughmaterazzicough, excuse me!
Add that to an ultra-defensive strategy by the coach and it makes for boring, ugly football instead of exciting, beautiful football. I still like them though, but not as much as I liked them back in the 90's when they had one of the best players in the world, Roberto Baggio, and one of the best teams.
France last year was guilty of the same ugly, boring, uninspiring game, except they had no cheaters. I honestly don't think either team deserved to be in the final.
And for the record, diego b is absolutely right, except its 9 world cups.

Maybe becuse AC Milan has won the European club champions in the past couple of years and Italy is the current FIFA world cup champion.

I have seen Brazil - Argentina games that have been boring to death, or Germany - Spain. BTW spain which has the "best club of all time" really blows.
If you don't like the italian way is fair, but history backs them, plus they are the reigning world champions.

You are very right! Italy thinks that they have the golden players and that they are the best of the best. They talk about the World Cup when they barely beat the US by a goal. They are not the best. Sure they have a good team but not the best.
