Because men are born with weaker communication skills therefore making it next to impossible to understand them. Thus a man trying to explain something to a woman who is used to conversing with other women with better communication skills becomes a problem.
Hmmmm, what has you so angry at the Female half of the population?!
Please do try not to tar us all with the same brush as the one who has hurt you.

Because men and women have different skill sets in the area of communication. The proof: marital problems for the last 5000 years of recorded history... Hey, but it makes for funny TV, like "Everybody loves Raymond", am I right!?

Why do men think a lack of interest means we don't understand something and then stand there for hours explaining something, basically to themselves?

adult adult males are easy, yet women individuals are too complicated to appreciate easy issues because of the fact women individuals are very talkative as they have 2 pairs of lips, one up and one decrease than, and this talkativeness leads them to no longer understand easy problems with existence.

Women tend to overthink things and we are very tied to our emotions so guys have trouble understanding our view of things. Plus some girls are just plain dumb

wait i actually figured this one out...
they put one little thing in their head "their answer."
and no matter what you do or say to explain something to them they won't believe you cuz it's not the answer thats in their head..and they will NEVER change that answer in their head. no matter what the situation is...
well at least that's how my ex was...
