i believe he will get in. he should have at least 2 more productive seasons so he could end up close to 450 HRs. he is the only switch hitter in MLB history to have at least 300 HR and an above .300 average. i believe mickey mantle was a switch hitter. not saying is better than mickey but have any of u tried to hit that consistently from both sides of the plate. there is guys in the pros NOW who cant even hit .300 while batting from their strong side. chipper will be in HOF....im kinda bias lol cuz im a braves fan

In his favor, he compares favorably with some of the great players in history at his position, third base, which is under-represented at the Hall of Fame. Against him, he just doesn't have the real career stats just yet. He doesn't have to be on a level with Mike Schmidt, but until you can put him in the same breath with Brooks Robinson, George Brett, Wade Boggs and Eddie Mathews without somebody laughing, I don't think he makes it... yet. The fact that the Braves, with their talent, should have won more Pennants and World Series than they did also hurts him (3 Pennants and 1 World Championship since he got there).

Thats a tough call. I've watched Chipper kill my beloved Mets for years and I know what a great hitter he is. He's got every good career numbers, but I'm not certain good enough for the hall of fame.

i think he will make it...he's gonna end up with more than 400 HRs, he's a .300 career hitter, and he's one of the best switch hitters the game has ever seen. but nowdays, more and more players are putting up those kinds of numbers, so i think it will be a tough one for him to make it. but i think he'll get in even if it's not on the first ballot.

Yeah! He has had so many great seasons, and still has a few years ahead of him. He should go in. Maybe not first ballot, but he will eventually

No. He's kind of like Luis Gonzalez. Someone who has great numbers but won't get in. There's a saying in baseball, if you have to ask if someone is going to get into the HOF it probably won't happen.
