I went to Borders last night and was amazed at all the books out that say "unauthorized" Harry Potter. They were actually books stating different peoples' views on what they thought was going to happen in the 7th book. Why would you pay that kind of money? We discuss it free on Yahoo and it's interesting to hear what other people think but I would never read a book on it.

Places are really going all out this time with parties at the book stores, games for the kids. They are even having a concert at our main library with Harry and the Potters (no, really) and all sorts of games and prizes.

I'm going to get my copy the next day and start to read it. I will not look on this site for anything to do with the book until I am done. What are you going to do?

Oh yeah I wouldn't pay for those books either. While they are interesting and all I don't see a reason to pay for someones thoughts on a fictional book.
I am soooo excited for it to come out in 12 days!!!!
I plan to when the book comes in to me(i have it on preorder and it should arrive to me the day its released!) reading till i either cant hold my eyes open or I finish it! Oh and I'm glad you said that about the Internet thing, I will be staying away as well.

I find those books interesting.. I actually borrowed one from my library! I wouldn't pay money to own one though...

My Harry Potter plans are actually quite boring compared to some. I'm leaving my house at 11:45 and I'm picking up my book I have on reserve. I'll go home and probably read for hours (not going on the Internet until I'm done, that's for sure!).

Some folks will not be discussing what may or may not happen on Yahoo. And some of those who are discussing on Yahoo may wish to get the unauthorized books so as to get more ideas on what they wish to discuss. Such books will always do well because there will always be people to buy them. Especially as they tend to go more in depth with the various theories than most folks answering questions on Yahoo do. We're most likely to do a paragraph or two at the most.

"Unauthorized" just means that JKR has not approved anything in those books, they are not to be considered part of the canon, and any Book 7 speculations in them are the sole responsibility of the author(s). It also means that if the authors' speculations don't come to pass, you don't have an excuse to get hacked off at the authors because you were warned up front that they were speculations, not anything official from JKR.

My girlfriend pre-ordered Book 7 for herself, me, and her best friend. I'll probably end up driving up to her house to get my copy, then hang out and read until it's time to go to the movies to see Order of the Phoenix. I'm going to be out of town this weekend, and we were already planning on waiting for the second weekend to go to the movie.

I'm avoiding Answers too until I'm done. I'm first on the waiting list at my local library so I'm excited. I have no idea why anyone would waste their money and time on a book that wont be of any use after the Deathly Hallows comes out.

I am going to pick up my book at midnight, but only because it fits with my unusual work schedule. I won't be coming on Yahoo Answers at all until I have finished reading it, because so many people insist on posting spoilers in the titles themselves.
