why are most people obsessed with celebrities?

Maybe because they want, or think they want, what the celebrities have. Money and lots of attention, and the press writing stories about how great they are. It's the ultimate narcissistic fantasy.
Also, much can be projected onto these people because we only see the beautiful pictures of them in magazines. We don't know the whole person. And we can think, well they must be better than the average human otherwise they wouldn't be so famous right? Not realizing that these are normal people who just happen to get more attention than us.

i'm not obsessed with celebs, i don't take interest in them at all. it's usually just young kids or teenagers that obsess over celebrities

i think that people just generally like to look at other people, their lives, to give them something to do.. and i do think that its a DISTRACTION from their own lives, their own problems, issues etc...

celebrities are obsessed with themselvs and nothing else..

media, feeds us all the rubbish the think we need, gossip, cheep shots and so on... and we do lap it up...

this makes money... and thats why it works...

its ONE BIG psychological GAME... and people get sucked in... who to look like, who not to and so on.. it sells everything that makes the big world of industry money...

BEING NORMAL is so dificult.... i live in an area where there are lots of celebs, living, and they are just normal spotty, smelly people, who think they are better than they are..

i love normal down to earth sincere people who are interesting and INTERESTED... down with the celeb...

and people unconsiously like poeple who are famous..
so.. poeple become obsessed about everything they do.. from what they wear to what they eat!!!!!!
i think its crazy.. because most of what they do is normal to me... its just because they are under the spotlight and on the cover of every magazine that makes them ''special''...
