If a guy, who has a gf tells a girl that he can’t hang out with her alone because he doesn’t trust himself around her…what does this mean? If a guy, who has a gf tells a girl that he truly feels like he loves his gf but has always felt like he’s loved someone else (i.e. the girls he’s talking to)…what does this mean? Lets say this guy and this girl don’t talk for a while…but when they start to again, it’s as if they just picked up the conversation from where they left off….what does this mean?

This guy has only ever had serious relationships...he hasn't been known to have a relationship last less than 6-7 months. He's known this girl (not the gf) for 7 years...and 6 of these years they've been after each other. Nothing has happened between them except some friendly hugs (friendly meaning on a friend-to-friend basis).

Also...when the guy and the girl (not the gf) talk to each other, they always go back to why they are not together.

I think that there is a wild undercurrent of mysteriously unexplored love going on here. Why is it that the guy and the lady, who is not his girlfriend, haven't tried dating before, if they've been chasing each other for six years. And in conversation, they always go back to why they aren't together? Hmmm..... What's the matter are their life goals, or careers not compatible? Are they from radically different religious faiths or cultures? I don't get what's keeping them apart after six years.

But from what you're saying about them, if Las Vegas was taking bets on what will happen with this relationship, I'd place my bet that one day these two will rip each others clothes off, and make wild, steamy, passionate love. Then the next day, they'll head to the preacher or the J.P.; get married; and spend the rest of their days together.

It sounds like a really strong attraction, that both of them are denying for some reason, since they've both been in this romantic limbo for so long without one of them trying to flat out get away from the other. That's why I think they are both secretly in love with each other.

Sounds like the guy wants to be with the girl but he's happy with the GF so he doesn't want to make a hasty decision and screw anything up. If the girl likes him still too, perhaps she should offer up that if he decides to give them another shot and dump his GF, that she'll be up for it. That way he knows he's got the go ahead. It honestly sounds like that guy and that girl miss each other.
BTW, there is such a thing as an emotional affair and these two are on the brink of having one.

Some times timing just doesn't work out. They should wait until they are both single to consider getting into a relationship. Cause if it doesn't work out one might be angry at the other for missing out on what they could have had.

It means exactly what he says. The guy might be really attracted to said girl but might not see her as girlfriend material. But that doesn't make the attraction disappear.
